ERII British Royal Naval Officer's Wilkinson
Sword , sold |
In good to very condition, a Wilkinson made ERII British Royal
Naval officer's sword.

With a little home refurbishment, such as liquid black shoe polish
for the scabbard leather and perhaps regilting the scabbard fittings,
many people would consider this sword fit for parade ground use.
If a serving RN officer were interested in owning a Wilkinson fit
for current day use, it might be easier simply to purchase a replacement
scabbard from the likes of Pooley Swords or elsewhere. Made in 1968
by Wilkinson Sword, with the serial number 91819 to the blade's
spine.

The 30 3/4 inch blade is in very good condition, some slight signs
of wear and aging but nothing much. The blade is firm in the hilt,
the hilt retaining good amounts of gilt, the fishskin grip with
twisted wire bindings in very good order. The folding section of
the hilt works well and locates properly onto the scabbard's upper
locket securing pin. The swords sheathes and draws very well. A
very nice sword. Please quote item reference number G60 (945). Further
/ large images available upon request..
