1889M WW2 Japanese Cavalry Trooper's / Army
NCO's Sword, sold |
In very good condition, an 1889M Imperial Japanese army NCO's
sword

100% Guaranteed Authentic. Most likely a japanese army NCO's sword
(rather than a Japanese cavalry trooper's sword) (there is much
photographic and other evidence to show the 1889M was used by cavalry
and infantry), in great shape and, we think, matching serial number
(the serial number on the saya is partially corroded).

A well above average example for only £300. Further / full
sized images available upon request. Please quote item reference
F41. Box 888-1m (2.495 Kg).
The 30 1/4 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the
hilt. The grip and guard equally good, a little wear and slight
staining here and there, the leather thumb loop inside the guard
has broken off (very common). The sword sheathes and draws well
into its steel saya (scabbard); the locking mechanism works well.
A very good buy. Please quote item reference F44 (891). Further
