ERII British Naval Officer's Wilkinson Sword
& Accoutrements, sold |
In very good condition, a Wilkinson made ERII (Queen Elizabeth
2nd) British Royal Navy / naval officer's sword, scabbard, knot,
all weather bag and belts.

In good enough condition to pretty much be used officially by a
serving RN officer in our opinion; perhaps some cleaning / maintenance
work required but, as can be seen, the hilt's gilt and grip are
particularly good. Wilkinson sword made, serial number 98039 for
1970. The sword comes with original knot, scabbard, all weather
cover / bag, belt and straps (see also images below).

The 31 inch blade is in very good condition, some scuffing, not
too much, and is firm in the hilt. The hilt generally is very good,
the white fishskin grip with some soiling but should be fairly easily
cleaned if required; the twisted grip wire bindings are all present
and correct. The folding guard works well and locates onto the scabbard's
associated securing pin. The scabbard is a little aged, one of the
interior liners is astray but present, the sword sheathes and draws
well if a little loosely. The sword knot is generally good. The
all weather bag a little aged, a small slit in the hood section,
not too noticeable. The belt is in good order though somewhat aged.
Generally though, a very good example and quite possibly could be
used by a serving officer.
Our price for this fine sword is (hidden); grab it quick as Wilkinson
Swords in this condition are highly prized; too late, now sold!
