A great find, in very good condition, a British 11th Hussars cavalry trooper's sword dated to 1891.

The 34 inch blade is in exceptionally good condition, various acceptance marks to 1909, marked "90" on the spine. Blade has been period sharpened and is firm in the hilt. The "Mallets Cross" hilt in good condition, some light rusting, marked to 11th Hussars on the inside; 1891 11H 116 (made in 1891, 11th Hussars, weapon number 116). The grip in very good order. The steel scabbard in equal condition as the hilt, also with various acceptance marks. The sword sheathes and draws very well; the scabbard holding the sword in place when inverted.

A well above average example and marked to a famous regiment. A great buy. Further / large images available upon request. Please quote item reference number E43 (823).
