19th / 20th Century Masai Warrior's Sword, sold

In very good condition, a heavy narrow bladed Masai Warrior's sword and sheath.

The 22 inch blade can only be truly appreciated by looking at it edge on or holding it; it is a very heavy blade, 0.57 Kg unsheathed. The blade is very well made with thick stem fanning out to thinner wider point end. This sword could inflict very serious injury and pierce a hide or other African shield. The leather grip is good and sound. The leather sheath also good. The sword sheathes and draws a little tightly but well.
