Victorian 1830-1834 Pattern 2nd Life Guards
Officers Sword, Sold |
In good to very good condition, a rare 1834 Pattern (introduced
circa 1830) British 2nd Life Guards officer's sword, full length.

A full length (35 1/2 inch) bladed 1834P Second Life Guard officer's
sword marked to "Hawkes & Co London Manufacturers to the
Queen". The blade period sharpened and still very sharp to
this day; that is how good a condition the blade is in. This is
a very difficult sword to source.

The blade is exceptional and firm in the hilt of course. The brass
hilt in very good condition save for some minor scraping to one
bar. The black fishskin grip and triple twisted grip wire bindings
are all present and correct. The steel scabbard with gilt fittings
is in good order, several patina spots; these could be polished
off if required. The sword sheathes and draws well. Please quote
item reference number C77 (679).
