WW2 Very Good Japanese Army Officer's Shin
Gunto, Yoshitada, sold |
A well above average Japanese army officer's katana (shin gunto),
signed Yoshitada.

We guarantee this item is authentic, not a later reproduction.
A 1944 model Japanese officer's shin gunto katana with an unstamped
blade signed "Yoshitada" and dated December 1941 (it is
common to find earlier blades in these late war swords).

The 65.7 cm blade (excludes habaki) is in very good condition,
just a few small scuff marks / scratches / aging, and with a good
straight hamon. The hilt ("tsuka") is in exceptionally
good condition, both the rayskin underneath and bindings. The saya
(scabbard) is also well above average and the sword draws, sheathes
and locks into place exceptionally well. A lovely sword and in great
condition; very good value. Full sized / additional photos available
upon request. Please quote item reference number C73.
