WW1 Scots Guards Officer's Sword, named officer,
sold |
In good condition, a WW1 Scots Guards officer's sword, named to
2nd Lieutenant D.K.J. Graham.

A good picquet weight WW1 Scots Guards sword by Wilkinson, serial
number 56288 for 1918. Blade with initials "D K J G" which
means 2nd Lieutenant DKJ Graham who was made honorary 2nd Lieutenant
in 1917, so it appears he rose from the ranks.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is well engraved with battle honours both
sides. Firm in the hilt, the hilt with some plating loss but good
and sound generally. The grip good but aged. The sword sheathes
and draws well into the leather field scabbard which is aged, some
stitching coming apart, but sound. A great sword with the chance
for original owner research. Further / full-sized pictures available
upon request. Please quote item reference number C63 (655).
