1827 Pattern British Rifle Regiment Officer's
Sword, sold |
In good condition, a very attractive Victorian British rifle regiment
officer's sword in good condition.

Quite a stunning example in its bright polished steel scabbard,
the blade etching still very much clear.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is nicely etched with VR (Victorian) cypher
and slung powder horn denoting use by a rifle regiment officer.
Some rust spots / small patches. No maker's name to the blade so
almost certainly retailed through a smaller outfitters. The steel
hilt is in lovely condition and very well matches the scabbard;
a stunning display piece. The fishskin grip is good though it has
lost some of its twisted wire grip binding strands. Sheathes and
draws quite nicely into its bright steel scabbard; some staining
marks which all should come out with a good metal polish
A great price for such a nice sword. Further / full sized pictures
available upon request. Please quote item reference number C49 -
