French 1866/74 Chassepot Bayonet, dated January 1879, sold

A good 1886/74 Chassepot bayonet with scabbard, St Etienne January 1879.

Properly marked to the hooked quillon and poincons to the forte, this is a good condition 1866/75 Chassepot bayonet. 52cm blade in good order and firm in the grip / hilt. The bayonet sheathes / draws well into its steel scabbard though a little easily. The scabbard with some small pitting. Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
