1845/54 Pattern Infantry Officer's Levee
Sword, Wilkinson made, sold |
Made in 1875/76, a Wilkinson Sword made 1854 Pattern British infantry
officer's sword in good condition.

A very good levee weight British infantry officer's sword with
scabbard, by Wilkinson, serial number 20481. As the Wilkinson sales
ledger is still in existence, the buyer can pay a search fee (around
£18) to find out the original purchaser of this sword from
Wilkinson (if the entry is missing, they refund the search fee).
So this is a completely un researched sword with plenty of potential.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is in very good order, patina patches to
most of the blade but no pitting, and is firm in the hilt. The hilt
in equally good shape, the fishskin grip and twisted wire bindings
in excellent shape for the age. The steel scabbard is also in well
above average condition. The sword sheathes and draws very well.
