WW1 / George 5th British Royal Artillery
Officer's Sword, Wilkinson, sold |
In good condition, a WW1 British Royal Artillery officer's sword
by Wilkinson.

Yes, WW1 swords are fairly common, but not like this one; a Wilkinson
high quality British artillery officer's sword in good condition,
the blade exceptionally impressive.

The 34 1/2 inch blade is finely etched with Royal Artillery thunderbolts
and badge. It has a small amount of rust spots, not enough to detract
from the beauty of this piece. The blade is firm in the hilt and
sheaths / draws well into / out of the leather field scabbard. The
hilt has some age patina which could be cleaned but I do not think
worth it. The fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings are in
good shape. The leather scabbard repaired along a stretch of one
seam and chape. A well above average sword in well above average
condition. Further / full sized images upon request. Please quote
reference number B08 (451).
