Quite a scarce variation of the 1897 pattern infantry officer's sword, this one with Royal Marines logo and badge to the etched blade. The sword itself in near parade ground condition may suit a serving officer.

The 32 1/2 inch blade in very good condition; it has been replated but the etching is still clear. Blade firm in hilt. The hilt / guard is in very good condition, some tarnish / discoloration but not too much. Grip and twisted grip wire all in good condition. Sword knot aged and broken strap. Leather scabbard overall good but aged. Leather carry bag more aged with hood separated and strap gone. The sword sheathes and draws well.
