1854P Mole of Birmingham British Infantry
Officer's Sword, Sold |
In good condition (damage as noted), an 1854P Mole of Birmingham
British Infantry Officer's Field Service Sword.

A great looking sword but with some damage; the tip of the blade
is deformed, the brass hilt has some bending / damage (these hilts
were / are very prone to it). This is a field officer's sword, denoted
by the steel (not brass) scabbard.

The 32 1/3 inch blade is good except for tip area (perhaps period)
and firm in the hilt. The hilt good but with some bending. The faux
fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings are very good (possibly
a later replacement). The steel scabbard is good but with some blemishes.
The sword sheathes and draws well.
This is a spectacular sword by a quality make or just £?
(too late, now sold). Please quote item reference AD84 (0601). Further
/ full sized pictures available upon request (recommended).
