WW1 British 1912P Cavalry Sergeant Majors
Sword, Sold |
In very good condition for its age, a WW1 British 1912P Cavalry
Sergeant Majors Sword, made by S & J Kitchin of Sheffield.

An officer's 1912 pattern sword but with view / inspection marks
and a steel trooper's type scabbard rather than the normal leather
scabbard for an officer. This sword was made for / issued to a Cavalry
Sergeant Major.

The 34 5/8 inch blade is in very good condition but with staining
(this is probably old wax / lacquer protection and likely would
come off with some effort). Blade firm in the hilt. The bowl guard
is good with significant amounts of original browning (camouflage)
remaining. The grip with some age but good, as is the twisted grip
wire. The steel scabbard also has significant browning remaining
and is in good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A really scarce sword in really good condition. A sword collector's
dream for just £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item
reference AD63 (0567). Further / full sized images available upon
request.
