No maker's / retailer's name etched to the ricasso, so probably 1917/1918. "London made" to the spine, "555" to the obverse.

The 32 1/3 inch blade is in quite good condition, the etching a little feint, not much in the way of rust / patina, firm in the hilt. The steel hilt with some light damage / bending but overall good. The faux fishskin grip in good order; the twisted grip wire bindings good but a couple of lesser strands slightly astray. The plated steel scabbard in sound condition, some age / rust spots. The sword sheathes and draws well but get nearly stuck when fully sheathed.

Good WW1 example. £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference AD54 (0538). Further / full sized images available upon request.
