WW1 / George V British Royals Corps of Signals
Officer's Sword, Sold |
In very good condition, a WW1 / George V British Royals Corps
of Signals Officer's Sword.

A rare sword, British George V 1897 pattern infantry officer's
sword but etched to the Royal Corps of Signals. This sword, while
being very well made, has no maker's / retailer's name etched to
the ricasso which indicates 1917 / 1918 manufacture.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the
hilt. The hilt also very good, as are the grip and twisted grip
wire. The original leather sword knot is aged but sound. The leather
field service scabbard is good, a little scuffed, but better than
most. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A well above average example of this scarce sword. Nice one for
just £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference
AD47 (0494). Further / full sized images available upon request.
