WW2 Japanese Heiho (converted Dutch 1911M
Klewang), sold |
In good condition, a WW2 Japanese Heiho (converted Dutch 1911M
Klewang), by Alex Coppel.

Iconic Heiho. Ironic maker. Made for the Dutch by Alex Coppel of
Solingen (Germany), the Netherlands overrun by Nazi Germany, this
sword captured by the Japanese as they overran the Dutch East Indies
and converted by the Japanese to HeiHo for use by Nationalist Indonesians
against the Netherlands.

The 23 1/2 inch blade is in very good condition, sharp, with a
small nick to the cutting edge. Blade firm in hilt. The sheath /
scabbard with feint Dutch regimental markings is aged and scuffed
but good. This heiho sheathes and draws well.
A really nice example and conservation piece. Yours for £?
(too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number AD44 (0515).
