WW2 Japanese Army Officer's Katana Sword,
Sold |
In good condition, a WW2 Japanese Army Officer's Katana; Civilian
sword for military Use.

With much older tsuba, the blade has a post-1941 Seki stamp and
is signed signed "Hayakawa Kaneyuki saku".

The 25 inch blade is overall good (some scuffing / age / wear /
small inert patina / rust spot either side) with hamon visible (some
sections very good / clear, others not so). A little bit of movement
by the blade in the tsuka / hilt, but not much. The kashira (pommel
cap) appears to be a replacement. Overall, all good. Leather with
age to saya / scabbard; period ventral repair / strengthening. Sword
sheathes and draws well. One scabbard retaining popper still works.
The tsuba alone is worth quite a bit, so our total price is very
good; just £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference
number AD18 (0421). Further / full sized pictures available upon
request.
