In good condition, a George V British Royal Navy Midshipman's Dirk by Gieves (Wilkinson), original officer's initials.

Etched to Gieves on he ricasso, so this dirk was made by Wilkinson Sword. Original owner's / officer's initials "J R O" to the scabbard's upper locket, so researching the original officer is possible.

The 17 1/4 inch blade is good, more one side than the other, and firm in the hilt. The hilt and grip a little aged / worn / grubby but good. The scabbard also good for its age but has lost its retaining clip. The dirk sheathes and draws well.

A good WW1 era RN dirk with research potential, all for £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference AC97 (0380). Further / full sized images available upon request.
