British ERII 1897P Infantry Officer's Sword,
sold |
In good condition, a British ERII 1897P Infantry Officer's Sword.
Item now reserved.

Most likely a 70's / 80's Solingen made sword (no maker / cutler
/ retailer name or "made in" markings). Would probably
clean up with TLC and careful use of a metal finishing polish (Simicrhrome
recommended) to parade ground standard.

The 32 3/4 inch blade is a little etch worn but generally very
good; it has a very small bend in it which would probably be easily
corrected. The hilt is good with some spotting (Simichrome would
remove these). The leather grip and twisted grip wire bindings are
overall good, some slight dings / wear. The leather scabbard is
more aged than the sword. Sword a little loose in scabbard, but
not much.
