WW1 British Royal Engineers Officer's Wilkinson
Sword, sold |
In very good condition, a WW1 British Royal Engineers Officer's
Wilkinson Sword.*DavidF

Serial number 46776 for 1914, superbly grey etched blade.

The 32 1/4 inch blade in very good condition, minimal rust spotting
/ wear, firm in the hilt. The hilt a little faded from age (a decent
metal finishing polish would bring it up) but with very little plating
blistering (some on the inner bowl, one small speck near the edge).
The grip with some age / wear but overall very good, as are the
twisted grip wire bindings. The leather field service scabbard a
bit aged and worn, and also bending a little from being dry. The
sword sheathes and draws a little loosely.
An authentic early World War One Wilkinson Sword in VGC for only
£? (too late, now sold); we must be mad! Please quote item
reference AB42 (0109). Further / full sized images available upon
request.
