British ERII Infantry Officer's Wilkinson
Sword, Sold |
In very good / parade ground condition, a British ERII Infantry
Officer's Wilkinson Sword; serial number 120218 for 1988.

With a little use of a quality metal finisher such as Simichrome,
I believe this sword would be as new. I bought the sword from Germany;
the name engraved to the tablet section of the blade is "Claus
Oppelt" who I understand was never in any army but simply decided
to buy a Wilkinson Sword from the manufacturer. If you find a quality
engraver, they should be able to engrave a pattern over his name
if desired. Certainly, this sword would make a superb present for
a serving officer.

32 1/4 Inch blade in very good condition and firm in the hilt.
The hilt with some slight age staining, but very little on the front.
The grip in very good condition. The plated steel scabbard in very
good condition but with some age staining. Again, the hilt / guard
and scabbard would possibly if not probably look like new with some
TLC and a little quality metal cleaning polish. The sword sheathes
and draws very well.
A lovely sword and I doubt I will own it for long! Yours for the
amazingly low price of just £xxx (too late, now sold - original
sales price revealed for small fee). Please quote item reference
