One of the famous M1822 cavalry sabres used by the French for many years, this one made over 50 years after the model was made official, a testament to the sabre design.

The impressive deadly 92 cm blade even putting a "long knife" (US cavalry sabre) to "shame". This blade is in superb condition, except for one ding to the forte, and firm in the hilt. The hilt is in very good order likewise, the original leather grip aged but complete, the twisted grip wire present and correct. Sheathes and draws well into / out of the steel scabbard. Includes original leather sword knot. A well above average example. Great value at £450. Further / full sized photos available upon request. Item Ref: A84 (439)
