Pristine ERII Wilkinson Sword General Officer's
Mameluke Sabre (sold) |
An exceptionally rare Wilkinson made British general's mameluke
sabre, current monarch ERII so suitable for a serving general in
the British Army, in pristine condition.

I absolutely guarantee this is an authentic Wilkinson Sword ERII
British general's mameluke, complete with sword knot and belts.
Serial number on the blade's spine is 122502 for 1992, together
with NATO item number WS (broad arrow) 91136-7276; this sabre was
once the property of HM Armed Forces. The sword is in near new condition
and is 100% suitable for official dress wear by a serving general.
The belts and sword knot need cleaning, but I am sure they could
be dry cleaned, etc.

I have absolutely no idea why this fine sabre was decommissioned,
but it was. I really do not expect to ever come across another on
the market; truly, this is a one off and now Wilkinson Sword (the
sword people) are no more, buy it while you can as you are never
likely to get the chance at one of these ever again.

The 31 1/2 inch blade is finely etched and as new. The ivorine
grip is in very good order and the small studs all present; the
gilt finish is still fine and bright. The blade is firm in the hilt
and sheathes / draws very well as you would expect. The steel scabbard
is in very good condition, though would stand some careful cleaning
to make "new" again. The blade has a blank panel so an
inscription could be made to it. Further / full-sized pictures available
upon request. Item reference number 806 (342).
