1755 Pattern English Dragoon Cavalry Backsword,
sold |
In very good order for its age, a rare 1755 pattern English dragoon
sword / sabre.

A magnificent 1755 English cavalry backsword for a dragoon cavalryman
with distinctive semi-basket hilt. This sword is in very good order
for its age. The 35 3/4 inch blade has a few nicks to the single
cutting edge and is firm in the hilt; no markings now visible to
the blade as this has been regularly cleaned / polished over time.
The hilt in absolutely superb condition for its age. The fishskin
grip has shrunk lengthways a little, but is in pretty good shape
with its grip wire bindings still in place.

I need to receive £? (too late, now sold) for this fine sword.
Further / full sized images available upon request. My reference
