1897 Pattern Edward 7th British Royal Engineers
Officer's Sword (sold) |
A good shiny example of a King Edward 7th Royal Engineer officer's
sword and steel dress scabbard.

In good condition, a Samuel Bros 1897 pattern Royal Engineers sword,
Edward 7th. The sword has been replated at some stage, so the etching
and some of the hilt detail is not as crisp as it once was, but
nonetheless it is a bright and impressive sword.

The 32 inch blade is generally very good except for some older
rust spots which have been replated over. The replating has made
the blade very firm in the scabbard. Blade firm in the hilt, the
hilt very bright. The fishskin grip and twisted wire bindings are
in very good order. Further / full sized images upon request. My
reference number is 710 (252).
