WW2 Wilkinson Sword 1st Pattern F-S Fighting
Knife (sold) |
A mid-WW2 Wilkinson Sword 1st pattern F-S (Fairbairn-Sykes) fighting
knife in good condition. Now sold, other F-S knives can be found
here: British Other

I guarantee this to be an authentic WW2 Wilkinson Sword made Fairbairn-Sykes
Fighting Knife, 1st Pattern. It dates from around 1942 as it has
the revised etching border for the Wilkinson Sword logo. With the
wings amiss / removed, this knife was almost certain to have been
issued to and worn, perhaps even used by a British Commando.

The service sharpened 17.2 cm blade is in good order and firm in
the hilt. The knife overall is in good shape, as is the leather
and steel chape sheath. It has the correct Newey patented retaining
popper, which works and is in good order. There are no markings
to the back of the sheath; this is correct for the mid / late production
1st patterns issued to British servicemen. Full sized / further
pictures available upon request. Item reference number 692.
