1803 Pattern British Infantry Officer's Sword
(sold) |
In good general order, a scarce 1803 pattern British infantry
officer's sword / sabre.

An impressive Georgian British line infantry officer's sword /
sabre with etching still clear on the 29 3/4 inch blade, which is
still firm in the hilt (much gilt remaining). These are the front
line officer's swords used by the British in the Napoleonic Wars.
This one with lion's pommel and leather grip; the leather still
good (actually very attractive) and twisted grip wire bindings are
still present and correct too. Further / full sized pictures available
upon request. My item reference number 686.
