Sold Item Notice

What a rare sword and how unusual it is too in that it clearly is a copy of the French An XI light cavalry sabre, but this post-Waterloo Prussian made sabre is marked to the 4th Dragoon Regiment.

The plain 33 1/2 inch blade is in very good order but with several nicks to the cutting edge implying it was used on some poor soul. Blade firm in the hilt. The langets marked "C.T." The guard marked IDR4EN and then some indistinct letters and numbers. The leather grip in good order but with one grip button missing one side. The sabre sheathes well in its very heavy steel scabbard (some rust damage to the lower edge) but overall sound. Further pictures available upon request. Item reference number 607.
