18th Century Gold Inlaid Persian Qamas / Qajar Dagger, Sold

Rare 18th century gold inlaid qamas dagger from Persia or possibly the Caucasus.

Blade 31 cm and fim in hilt. The dagger is loose in its sheath (the original wooden lining is gone). In aged but good condition with traces of gold inlay. We are prepared to accept £? (too late, now sold) for this item. Was featured at Christies (lot number 30) in their Indian and Islamic Art sale on the 15th October 2004; estimate range £300 to £500 plus 23% premium).
