Weyersberg’s king’s head and Kirschbaum’s knight’s head, so pre-1918 when the abolition of the German monarchy meant the King’s Head was dropped. No regimental marks, so an officer’s private purchase (not a German army issued sword to a trooper or NCO).
The 34 1/8 inch pipe back blade, plain but for the WKC Trademark, has patina patches but not so many and is firm in the hilt. The solid (non-folding) guard bearing the Prussian eagle is in good condition. The ribbed composite grip is very good. The steel scabbard with a few dings, especially around the drag (showing it was worn on horse back) is aged but good. The sword sheathes and draws a tad loosely.
Very nice honest example at a decent price of was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference ZY75. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1958 107 x 16 x 15 (1.428).
