Just post Waterloo / Napoleon, dated October 1816. Yes, the scabbard is a bit frail, but you would be too if you were over 200 years old. The blade’s inspection marks (poincons); the parts thereof are only just visible. It is an infantryman’s sword.

The 22 7/8 inch blade is in aged (worn, patina patches, some light pitting) good condition and firm in the hilt. The one piece brass hilt with ribbed grip is worn with a ding but good. The leather of the scabbard is dry and aged but sound; the brass scabbard fittings with wear and dings. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Good example (especially as it has its original scabbard) at a really good price, £500. Please quote item reference ZY52. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1920 78 x 16 x 15 (1.627).
