Serial number 61178 for 1927; unfortunately the Wilkinson sales ledger has a blank for this serial number, but the officer’s initials “W P C” should allow a diligent researcher to identify him.

The 34 1/2 inch blade is in good condition but has mutliple small patches of patina; it is firm in the hilt. The hilt / bowl guard is in very good condition for its near 100 year old age. The fishskin grip has faded and has wear, but is still good. The twisted grip wire bindings are good but a lesser strand is wayward. The leather sword knot and scabbard frog strap are both aged and have multiple surface cracks but are sound. The leather field service scabbard is very good for its age. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A genuinely good example with officer research potential, all for £650. Please quote item reference ZX80. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2056 119 x 20 x 20 (2.60).
