With British Crown Office label dated 30th September 1998, British Colonial Malaysian coat of arms to the guard’s catouche and etched both sides of the blade, plus the Eickhorn of Solingen squirrel trademarked logo to the blade, this ex-stores / unused Colonial Malaysian British 1821 pattern police officer’s sword is as scarce as it is in superb condition.
The 32 1/4 inch well etched blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The plated steel guard (with colonial British Malaysian cost of arms) is in excellent condition (some very light milky tarnish – easily carefully removed and plating buffed). The black faux fishskin grip is in excellent condition, as are the twisted grip wire bindings (some lesser strands very slightly astray for some turns). The plated steel scabbard in equally very good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.
