Deep etched to the spine “E.W. Becher Bonn”, the blade is very well deep etched including an “Eisenhaur” banner.
The 32 5/8 inch blade is exceptionally well deep etched, in very good condition, plus firm in the hilt. The blackened steel guard / hilt has some age and small inert rust spots but is good; the leather thumb hold is falling apart and now incomplete. The black fishskin ribbed grip is good but aged; there are no grip wires present. The blackened steel scabbard has patina and a ding towards the chape. Probably because of the ding, the sword sheathes and draws tightly when nearly full sheathed.
