We have no provenance. It is a Falklands War era Argentine army officer’s sword, and we can not think how else it came to be in the UK, so we presume it is a British vets bring back war trophy. If only this sword could talk and tell us its history!
The 84cm (33 inch) blade is losing its plating but it sound and firm in the hilt, with most etching still present and clear. The hilt / guard also is suffering a small amount of flaking but remains good. The composite grip is good. The black painted scabbard good. The sword sheathes and draws tightly, probably on account of flaked plating inside (probably can be knocked out).
Actually a rare sword at a bargain price; was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Z79. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1618 golf (1.773).
