Serial number 84424 for 1962. With some TLC and a good metal finishing creme (e.g. Simichrome), this may well be suitable for a serving officer.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is in very good condition, etching clear, a little wear but not much, firm in the grip and hilt. The plated hilt / guard good and could be improved with some TLC. The faux fishskin grip and associated twisted grip wire bindings are very good. The leather field service scabbard with some age and wear but is still good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Nice above average example at a very nice below average price; was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Z51. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1589-103x17x17 (2.188).
