Gendai (18871-1945), Shinsaku (post 1945). The blade on this wakzashi has been overly western buffed / polished.

The 11 1/2 inch nagasa (cutting edge section) blade has been overly cleaned / western polished. Some movement in the tsuka / hilt; could use an additional seppa (blade washer). Tsuba / guard good but with marks. Same (rayskin) grip base OK. Ito (grip bindings) not the best done but OK. Saya good, missing kozuka (little knife). Sword sheathes and draws OK.
Not the finest wakizashi in the best polish, but still, nice enough, especially at just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Y84. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1490-71x11x11 (0.835).
