No maker’s name but the circle C view / inspection poincon / mark is an early 1830’s mark for the private side of the Klingenthal sword business, Coulaux. For an infantry or artillery man of rank, as it is etched (the vast majority are plain bladed). Glaive des troupes à pied modèle 1831.
The 21 1/8 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt / grip. The one piece brass hilt / grip very good, just a few blemishes. The leather and brass fittings scabbard is aged and the chape has been glued back on, but is overall good / sound. The sword sheathes and draws well.
