No markings, but that was common. The silver grip wire gone (not a difficult job for someone to add and age). No firm / regulation patterns exited for the period, just styles. And this style of short curved blade speaks of the end part of the American Revolutionary War (American War of Independence). Though, it may be the hilt / guard was a slightly later replacement (to replace an earlier style / a damaged hilt or even afford more hand protection as British swords of this era were notoriously poor in this regard).

The 24 1/2 inch blade is in good condition with a steady patina but with some minor nicks / roughness to the forward cutting edge which may mean it saw action. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard in good condition. The wooden grip is minus the silver grip wire it once had.
Very nice example at a very nice price; (was) £500, now £400 . Please quote item reference X56. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1303-101x19x16 (1.446).
