Marked to Weyersberg Kirschbaum & C0 Solingen, so a circa 1930 made railway official’s sword made politically correct after a few years by the replacement of the pommel dome to one with a Nazi Swastika. These very desirable and attractive German Third Reich Deutsche Reichsbahn Railroad Dress Swords are scarce, if not rare.
The 30 1/2 inch plain blade is in good condition, some tiny plating blisters and fairly firm in the hilt (a little movement). The brass hilt in good condition. The spiral brass grip with some lateral movement. The leather and brass fittings scabbard aged but good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
