The curved bladed version of these Dutch swords are commonplace. This is a scarce straight bladed Netherlands M1895 Pooksabel for a cavalry or possibly mounted artillery officer. Marked WK&C for Weyersberg Kirschbaum et Cie (Company) of Solingen.
The 32 3/4 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The plated hilt / guard with some small spots of formative rust but in very good condition despite. The composite grip in good condition. Steel scabbard good but with a couple of minor dings, some age / scuffing etc. The sword sheathes and draws very well.
Very nice example. Very nice price, just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference X26. Further / full sized images available on request. Box 1276-101x18x16 (2.125).
