Made by Wilkinson Sword just before the outset of World War One.
The 34 7/8 inch blade is generally in good condition but with some pitting around the forte and patina patches towards the point. Blade firm in hilt and grip. The hilt / guard is pitted (we have stabilized the rust) but quite sound, though the section into the pommel is crumpled (quite a common event on these swords). The composite grip is in good condition. The steel scabbard is pitted throughout but sound. The sword sheathes and draws well. All the rust has been treated.
A good “restoration” project perhaps, or just an antique from WW! to gaze at and wonder. A snip at just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number W99. Further / full sized pictures available upon request. Box 1228-121x18x16 (2.715).
