George V / WW1 era 1912P British Cavalry
Officer's Sword, for sale |
In good overall condition, a George V / WW1 era 1912 pattern British
Cavalry Officer's Sword.

No maker's details to the blade, most likely Sheffield made (due
to blade etching style), this is a quality sword easily noted by
the supremely high quality large nodule ray skin grip covering.

The 34 1/2 inch blade is good but with a patina pretty much throughout.
Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt / bowl guard with age, a light
rust inside the bowl and some lesser denting to the edge. The fishskin
grip in very good condition. The twisted grip wire bindings are
good. The leather field service scabbard has age, scrapes, etc but
is sound / good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Good honest example at a very reasonable price, £450. Please
quote item reference number W89. Further / full sized pictures available
upon request. Box 1222-123x20x20 (2.230).
