M1898/M1911 Dutch East Indies Army Hembrug Cutlass, sold

In good condition, an unmodified M1898/M1911 Dutch East Indies Army Hembrug Cutlass (Klewang Marechausse Netherlands), Unit Marked.

One of the few Dutch cutlasses to remain unmodified (the Japanese reduced to hilts to make so called "Heihos"). This one has unit markings and what is probably the Dutch Indonesian soldier's initials.

The 24 inch blade is in very good condition but with an ominous period nick to the cutting edge. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt very good, some speckles of light rust. The wooden grip pieces with some wear / age but good. The leather scabbard is good but aged. The cutlass sheathes and draws well.
