Sold Item Notice

One of the few Dutch cutlasses to remain unmodified (the Japanese reduced to hilts to make so called "Heihos"). This one has unit markings and what is probably the Dutch Indonesian soldier's initials.

The 24 inch blade is in very good condition but with an ominous period nick to the cutting edge. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt very good, some speckles of light rust. The wooden grip pieces with some wear / age but good. The leather scabbard is good but aged. The cutlass sheathes and draws well.

Great piece of Dutch history with unit research potential and in above average condition. Just £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number W80 (1213). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
