WW1 British Infantry Officer's Wilkinson
Sword, Sold |
In good condition, a WW1 British Infantry Officer's Wilkinson
Sword and Scabbard.

This is one sword that looks a lot better in the flesh rather than
flash; the later doing it no favours (it looks much better then
the photos show). Supremely dark grey etched with a non-plated steel
hilt. Serial number 51525 for 1917.

The 32 3/8 inch blade in very good condition and firm in the hilt.
The steel hilt in good condition, a general tarnish (can be cleaned
off) and some very small spots, the backpiece with some small rust
patches, the inside of the bowl guard with a far amount more. The
black fishskin grip in very good condition, minimal wear. The silver
metal twisted grip wire bindings are good. The leather field service
scabbard is in good shape, some wear, etc. The sword sheathes and
draws well.
A well above average example of a WW1 Wilkinson. Just £?
(too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number W79 (1202).
