This is one sword that looks a lot better in the flesh rather than flash; the later doing it no favours (it looks much better then the photos show). Supremely dark grey etched with a non-plated steel hilt. Serial number 51525 for 1917.

The 32 3/8 inch blade in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The steel hilt in good condition, a general tarnish (can be cleaned off) and some very small spots, the backpiece with some small rust patches, the inside of the bowl guard with a far amount more. The black fishskin grip in very good condition, minimal wear. The silver metal twisted grip wire bindings are good. The leather field service scabbard is in good shape, some wear, etc. The sword sheathes and draws well.
