Mole 1895 Pattern Victorian British Infantry
Officer's Sword, sold |
In good condition, a good Mole 1895 Pattern Victorian British
Infantry Officer's Sword, serial number M2414.

Many people consider Mole (maker to the War & India Office)
to have been the premier sword maker of the time, and with good
reason. This is an exceptional scarce 1895P infantry officer's sword.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the
hilt. The steel hilt is very good save for a light inert rusting
around the sword knot slot and some speckles inside the guard. The
fishskin grip is in very good condition though with a little wear
and fading. The associated silver metal twisted grip wire bindings
in good order. The lovely late Victorian era leather and still fittings
scabbard with some age but very good for age. The sword sheathes
and draws very well.
A great sword in well above average condition. Our price: £?
(too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number W70 (1200).
