Sales enquiries

Serial number 88218 for 1965; the Wilkinson sales ledger simply confirms its existence, the details section of the receipt is blank, so almost certainly bought by the Life Guards Regiment itself. Blade festooned with battle honours.

The almighty 37 3/16 inch blade is in very good condition, a couple of tiny patina spots away from the etching, some wear / smudging but not much, firm in the hilt. The hilt in very good condition (the badge is secure but has lost one of its three hidden small hilt bolts) and with original leather insert. The grip in very good condition; some very small wear holes. The twisted grip wire bindings very good. The leather scabbard is good but could be enriched with some leather balsam. The leather frog and knot in aged condition. This sword could quite easily be put into parade condition.

A great sword, rarely found on the market, and a great price; £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number W62 (1188). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
