With no markings whatsoever, this could easily be a sword made for an American or European officer. The pipe back clipped point blade is distinctly British and the light pitting attests to its age.
The 35 12 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard good but with a speckling of light pitting throughout. The grip is worn condition with some patches of leather loss, but sound. The steel scabbard with some small dings and a constant light pitting as with the hilt. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A mystery to a degree but a very well made one. Well priced: was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number W47. Further / full sized pictures available upon request. Box 1173-122x19x16 (2.505).
